In most turbo systems there is some sort of valve, either a diverter/bypass valve or a blow-off valve. When you are in boost and let off the throttle, the intake pipe becomes extremely pressurized and superheats the air inside of it. All that pressure is trying to go somewhere, and without anywhere to go it can force you turbocharger wheel to stop or even rotate backward. This is really bad for turbo longevity, but also just a very poor design. For whatever reason, Can-Am used this exact design on their Maverick X3 Turbo.
Luckily, Agency Power has developed a very cost-effective solution to this problem with their new Adjustable Blow Off Valve Kit. This kit includes a replacement silicone tube which allows for the provided blowoff-valve to be mounted. This replacement tube also has a smoother design that the factory tube which helps reduce turbulence. The blow-off valve relies on vacuum to operate and there isn’t a location on the stock Maverick X3 to pull vacuum from. For this reason, Agency Power includes a special machined fitting which mounts to your intake manifold and allows the blowoff-valve to have a vacuum source.
The CNC machined aluminum valve features a piston and spring design to provide very sharp and clean boost response. The spring has been specially tuned to work perfectly with the Maverick X3, and the top of the BOV can be turned 360 degrees allowing you to adjust the stiffness of the spring. This kit can be ordered with or without the blow-off valve. The silicon tube will work with any 1” blowoff-valve, but we recommend getting the full kit just to simplify your installation.
