In 2021, ABT Sportsline will be celebrating its 125th birthday and in none other than ABT style. To further the already high anticipation of the anniversary, ABT has released imagery and details surrounding its special edition ABT RSQ8-R model. The exclusive model will be limited to just 125 examples for each one of the tuner’s spectacular years. The strictly limited model boasts the ultimate expansion of the incredible utility vehicle which, with 591 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque, has already broken the Nurburgring lap record for SUVs.
A short time after that record was made, ABT upped the ante (as it does) with a performance upgrade to deliver 700 horsepower and 649 pound-feet of torque. Of course, this exclusive model can top that even further. With the high-tech ABT Engine Control unit, which works together with a specially engineered intercooler, the RSQ8 delivers 740 horsepower and 679 pound-feet of torque. All that power also comes with a tantalizing soundtrack thanks to the stainless steel ABT exhaust system. The exhaust makes the presence of the rare RSQ8-R known and exudes a mean appearance with its four 102mm end pipes.

Speaking of appearances, the RSQ8-R also gets quite the visual upgrade. ABT offers a stunning aerodynamics package for the beastly SUV that hugs every curve beautifully and takes its aesthetic to newfound heights. It’s comprised of the following individual carbon fiber elements: front skirt add-ons, front lip with add-on, mirror caps, side skirts, wheelhouse ventilation, fender extensions, rear spoiler, and rear skirt add-on. That’s not all, though. The ABT RSQ8-R model also comes with weight-optimized 23-inch flow-forming ABT High Performance HR wheels with 295/35 R23 tires to complete the look.
For the cabin, the RSQ8-R gets an upgraded, sporty interior using only the highest-grade materials. Components include an ABT steering wheel upgrade, a start-stop switch cap, and a shift knob cover. Other elements like the revised armrest and center console, and ABT seat refinement help add another layer of sophistication. The RSQ8-R cabin features door sills with the lettering “1 of 125” on them, floor mats with the model logo, as well as special plaques, lettering, and logos, to further testify to ABT’s expert craftsmanship, attention to detail, and top-notch materials.
One thing’s for sure, the ABT RSQ8-R is a head-turning, eye-catching SUV that takes the already impressive factory model to the ultimate level in terms of appearance, performance and refinement.
