AEM’s Water/Methanol Injection Systems are the most comprehensive WMI systems available on the market. They include everything you need to install WMI the right way. Over time, AEM has incorporated a number of changes to make its systems even better. That being said, AEM has yet again updated its gas and turbo Diesel Water/Methanol Injection systems. The new breakthrough injector design is aimed at improving atomization, delivering faster inlet temperature cooling, and using less fluid to maintain said cooling. This dramatic improvement in AEM’s injector technology is paired with a new WMI pump design that is 100 percent waterproof, making it safe for engine bay and frame rail mounting.
Note: The V3 injector replaces the old V2 injector in all AEM Electronics WMI systems and can be purchased as an upgrade to existing systems (PN 30-3313).
In testing at AEM, the new V3 250cc WMI nozzle and the V2 250cc WMI nozzle both achieved a 90-degree inlet temp reduction. The third-generation nozzle design, however, achieved this reduction nearly 6.5 seconds faster. In a racing environment, this can prove to be an especially big deal.
The AEM team then tested a V3 250cc injector against a V2 500cc injector to see if the larger V2 injector would improve cooling speed. The second-gen 500cc injector achieved nearly identical cooling speed as the third-gen 250cc injector. However, it required almost 44 percent more fluid to achieve that same cooling.
Less fluid used means fewer refills of your WMI tank and less money spent refilling it. With the V2 500cc nozzle with a one-gallon tank, you will get close to 7 minutes and 50 seconds of run time at full pressure. With the V3 250cc nozzle with a one-gallon tank, you will get 13 minutes and 30 seconds of run time at full pressure.
