Akrapovic just announced the release of their new Evolution Line Exhaust System for the 2016+ BMW F87 M2. The Evolution Line Exhaust is made from ultra-lightweight, high-grade titanium, and will lower the overall weight of the BMW M2 and improve handling. This CARB-compliant system has been tuned to extract the most from the twin-turbo six-cylinder engine of the M2 and is designed to deliver more power across the rev range.
This new system also features two separate tubes from the downpipe to the muffler – unlike the vehicle’s original single-tube configuration. It is expertly routed and shaped to provide the optimum gas flow from the M2’s engine with double carbon fiber tips. The exhaust’s sound has also been enhanced by Akrapovic’s engineers to provide that “Slovenian soundtrack” that is both higher in pitch and will have you addicted to its roar. The Evolution Line system is ideal for everyday use, while still providing a true racing feel in the upper RPM range. At low revs, you will hear your car growling quietly; once you step on the gas, be prepared to hear it roar.
As with most Akrapovic products, this system is plug-and-play and easy to install, offering a great addition to improve the performance and looks of the BMW M2 with minimal work. The optional Akrapovic sound kit is also available, and enables owners of this exhaust to control the sound of the system from the cockpit. Using Akrapovic technology, drivers can easily switch between the quiet mode and a sportier sound. With the use of a receiver to drive the actuators that open and close the valves within the exhaust system, drivers can use the Sound Remote Controller or smartphone app to regulate and control the valves.
