The Magnuson supercharger kit for the Toyota Tundra 5.7L is an absolute work of art and must have modification for this truck. Coming from the factory with 381 horsepower and just over 400 ft/lbs of torque, the V8 is strong, but not strong compared to other trucks in its class. Newer vehicles such as the 2017 Ford Raptor with its 3.5L turbocharged EcoBoost push out 450 horsepower! Magnuson answers back with their bolt-on kit giving you over 500 horsepower with 550 ft/lbs of torque. Can you feel the difference? You better believe it! The finely tune, OEM like kit livens the Tundra up like it should have come from the factory. Surpassing the original TRD supercharger in power, drivability, and performance. Magnuson has kits for both the Flex Fuel 5.7L and Non Flex Fuel 5.7L vehicles. The main difference in the kit and installation is the fuel pump upgrade for the FFV trucks. The kit is a true bolt-on that does not require any additional products. Complete with a well calibrated Bully Dog tuner, the kit is even CARB approved for those residing in California. Having previously owned a VF Engineering supercharged BMW M3, expectations of a high quality supercharger kit were certainly met with the Magnuson product. The installation of the FFV kit took about 10 hours by our friends at Earnhardt Toyota who love aftermarket parts. Everything is well labeled and the instructions are very easy to follow. Doing the Bully Dog ECU flash requires them to remote in to your PC to download the original binary from the car and then upload a new tune which is all done via the OBDII port.
Upon completion of the installation, I jumped in the truck and got after it. The charger has a nice whine to it and pulls like a freight train. Drastically different than a TRD Supercharged Tundra I test drove. The torque is very strong with linear power all the way through redline. Fuel economy when you are not driving like a wild person actually slightly increases. However its hard to see that gain as the power and performance of the Magnuson is to much fun to not use your lead foot! What makes the kit even better is that Magnuson offers a 3 year/36,000 mile warranty and for an extra amount you can purchase a 5 year/60,000 mile warranty that covers the entire powertrain! The decision to do this supercharger was everything expected and I highly recommend it. Without this performance, it would be just another Toyota Tundra.

Hi , I noticed you wrote that there was a fuel pump upgrade for the FFV Tundra’s when installing the supercharger. I was one of the first to get the supercharger as a test group and I didn’t remember changing the fuel pump. Actually , I think , the FFV trucks don’t have to change the fuel pump or the fuel injectors. Could be wrong but that’s what I remember. Nice site keep up the good work.
Regards John Reilly
Non flex fuel has to upgrade the pump. Flex Fuel does not 🙂
Did you run this non-flex? Any issues with the knock sensor?
My truck is a Flex Fuel but we have sold and have used non flex. No issues they work great!
is your truck a 2017 or 2018?
This is a 2017. The kit is not available for the 2018 at this time because of ECU tuning.
Is there plans to make this available for the 2018 Tundra?
The issue is the 2018 ECU has not been cracked. Its different that the 2017. Thats what everyone is waiting for.
I’ve got a 2012 flex fuel 5.7 lt how much is kit anc price for complete installation has roughly 46000 miles on odometer is the warranty still be honored ? Thank for uuur time Frank Hisquierdo
Magnuson offers their own 36k mile/ 3-year powertrain warranty along with this kit! Installation price will vary from shop to shop though, but it is best to budget around $10,000

How’s it going, Yuri? Unfortunately, we do not do installs for the public. This kit also does not fit the 2020 model. Sorry about that.
Hello
I have a 2012 tundra 5.7L/flex and was wondering if in your experience is there a mileage limit as far as having too many miles on a motor to install your product?
Thanks
Lee
It’s really going to be dependent on how healthy the engine is. To truly know the condition the oil pan has to be removed in order to check the rod bearings and main bearings. If the engine is 150,000-200,000 it is highly recommended to check the bearings before doing a supercharger install.
Want to supercharge my 2015 Tundra, I live in Illinois.
