VR Tuned now offers ECU tuning for all F Series BMW vehicles. This includes the new F32 BMW 435I and F30 335I with the N55 turbocharged engine. The inline 6 cylinder engine has tons of room for more horsepower and torque. To flash these ECU’s, the ECU must be removed from the vehicle. Once tuned, the boost pressure is increased, the timing is advanced, and the air fuel ratio is changed. In addition to these modifications, we increase the top speed, alter the torque limiter to give you more low end power, and make changes to have the turbos much more responsive to your throttle usage.
We did several tests on our Mustang All Wheel Drive Dyno to achieve true driving conditions. With these newer cars, we choose to run them in AWD mode instead of RWD because of the sensitivity of the traction control system. Our test car for this ECU flash is a 2015 BMW 435I with 91octane gas and an ambient temperature of about 80F. The results are a beautiful gain in horsepower and torque throughout the entire power curve. Are tests were done in 4th gear calibrated to 3000rpm running the test from 2500rpm to redline of about 6700rpm. Our car made a consistant gain of about 45ft/lbs of torque to 5000rpm and about 25hp to 5000rpm where it dipped down then picked back up to redline. In AWD, the drivetrain loss is about 20-25%. The car was equipped with a stock exhaust and catback. An aftermarket catless downpipe and catback will help with the turbocharger breathing better giving the cars already tuned ECU even more gains. As well, higher octane such as 93 or 95 gas will yield more horsepower.
With our ECU read and write tool, once the ECU is flashed on the bench, we can also unlock it from its write protection to then flash the ECU tuned or stock file via the OBDII port. This of course is only available to those local to us here in Arizona. Interested in ordering this ECU flash? Call a sales rep at 1.480.966.3040 or shop VR Tuned BMW ECU Tuning Here!
