This car could also become a project car of Vivid Racing’s because over the past 2 years, this beautiful Porsche 996 Turbo has gone from BONE stock to over the top. You might have seen this car from articles we did on the Agency Power 650 Kit or how to install a GT2 front bumper, but now we have added the all new Brembo 2pc rotors to the car. This customers car received the upgraded 6piston GT3 brake kit on the front of his car. With 650 horsepower to the crank, he wanted to get even better stopping power. The 2pc Brembo fully floating rotors feature the patented McLaren hardware that allows the rotor to be a true floating piece. Better pad wear, improve braking, and he saves 3lbs per corner with the addition of these rotors.
Installation is very similar to our 997TT rotor install seen here. For the 996TT, you MUST have the 6piston GT3 upgraded brakes. Remove the stock caliper and pull back out of the way. Take off the phillips screw that secure the rotor to the hub. Remove the rotor, place to new rotor on and fasten screw in place on the hat. Replace the caliper and BAMO! Unlike other rotors, you dont need to wash these off, or do anything to them. Simply go out and bed them in properly and your good to go.
Here are some pics of the install. You can read more about the Brembo 2pc Rotors on our site here.
