No matter what type of convertible sports/luxury car you prefer, one thing is for sure: they deliver an unmatched driving experience. The Porsche 911 Carrera is a great example, as it is light, responsive, and easy to place in corners. The car is simply awe-inspiring to drive straight from the factory. Even so, many owners of these types of vehicles install modifications to further sharpen their cars or up the power, like adding sticky tires, sway bars, and turbo kits.
One mod that is not a necessity but definitely adds another layer of safety is a roll bar. Convertibles, whether sports cars or luxury cars, don’t have a fixed room, making them less rigid and also providing minimal protection in case of a rollover. A roll bar alleviates some of these dangers and sends impact force to the chassis, which is built to withstand it. Its job is also to reduce the body roll of your vehicle during fast cornering or over road irregularities for sharper handling and a somewhat stiffer chassis.

Our customer Nick Armer is the proud owner of a 1999 Porsche 911 Carrera and was looking for a way to enhance his driving experience with added safety to boot. He opted for the DAS Sport Roll Bar and even had it painted green to match the stitching on his seats and the harnesses. At first glance, his interior truly pops with the stunning custom green finish that also complements the bright calipers on the outside. Why DAS Sport, though? Well, DAS Sport has been the roll bar specialist in the industry since 1992. Throughout the last three decades, the brand has become the most respected name when it comes to manufacturing safety cages for high-performance vehicles and race cars. DAS Sport is “The Original 911 bolt-in no modification roll bar”. Each bar is thoughtfully and expertly designed with safety in mind and attention paid to tight tolerances to allow for an uncompromising fit.
The DAS Sport Roll Bar for the Porsche 911 Carrera fits seamlessly without any cutting, drilling, welding, or other modifications to the interior! It mounts to the rear shock upper mountings behind the rear seatbacks. The front main hoop mounting plate attaches to the factory front shoulder harness lower mounting. Rear shock tower bracing has been standard since the first prototype. The bar’s main hoop hugs the roofline and “b” pillar areas to minimize interior obstructions. The unique “x-brace” reinforcement design provides improved roll-over protection without blocking the driver’s view through the back window for comfortable daily driving. The x-brace also provides chassis stiffening through its attachment at the rear shock towers.
