Building a drift car comes with many hours of hard labor, fabrication, and buying the right parts. The suspension needs to be fine-tuned while offering adjustments for various conditions. Having a reliable powertrain that offers instant power and enough torque to keep the wheels spinning is essential. A key component to any drift car is the clutch which is why our customer @audicted_n54 chose to go with a Clutch Masters 725 Series Twin Disc Race Clutch with aluminum flywheel for his 2007 BMW 335i E92.

The lightweight aluminum construction of the flywheel allows the engine to rev faster as there is less rotational mass to turn. Being that drifting requires immense levels of timing between transitions the lightweight flywheel gives the ability to rev the engine as fast as you can to dump the clutch and deliver power immediately. Clutch engagement is just as important which is why our customer chose to go with a twin-disc assembly.
Twin friction disc provides a smooth engagement when releasing the clutch at fast rates. The friction material on both discs delivers power reliably due to the larger surface area spread across the discs. Firm pedal feel is achieved due to the strong pressure plate engagement giving the driver minimal travel. The reduction in pedal engagement distance allows the clutch to be released quickly.
Clutch Masters developed this kit for enthusiasts in mind just like our customer, building a purpose-built race car. Drift cars are similar to race cars in the aspect that clutch engagement and power delivery is essential to the performance around the track. Not only does it provide instant power, but also offers reliable clutch engagement without slippage.
