2003 Toyota MR2/MRS Story
I have found that MIATA is not the only answer! Faster, easier to work on, and longer legs behold the MR2 Spyder. I picked this car up in January of 2021. Stock motor, 14 year old tires and I couldn’t have been happier at the time. I fell in love instantly. The car has much more to offer once the modifications start rolling in. This car needs suspension to have its darting effect, a front swaybar for full control (snap oversteer is a myth) and a LSD for putting the power down. I found myself wanting more power. I installed a 2zz-ge out of a Toyota Matrix XRS or Lotus Elise. Or I though… It actually identified as a Subaru and decided to munch on the rod bearings. I then decided to go ole reliable and take part in the Honda gang. We are 6,000 miles in making 230hp and I couldn’t be any happier. The car brings so much attention on the road and at work. Dan M may think I have an obsession or something against Miatas as he keeps threatening to put Miata stickers on it. I may have to invest $7 in a Etsy red Beetle sticker for him just in case 🙂
