BMW dominated the market with the release of the E36 3-Series as enthusiasts sought after more performance than the previous E30 chassis. Launching at the end of 1990, the E36 chassis gained massive attention from enthusiasts all around the world. Being lightweight, offering technology ahead of its time, and raw performance is what leads many to buy the chassis.
The overall performance from the E36 was astonishing for its time. Although there were better sports cars, BMW offered a sense of luxury mixed with sheer performance. With varying models to appeal to multiple demographics, BMW seamlessly engineered each chassis with excellence. A common downfall of the E36 is the lack of airflow to the inline-6 engine.

Fortunately, Dinan combats this issue with a carbon fiber cold air intake system. The factory intake piping is restrictive and robs the engine of power and torque. By simply enlarging the piping diameter, an increase to airflow is achieved which results in 12+ HP and 11 lbs/ft of torque. These aren’t the only gains accomplished upon installing the Dinan cold air intake.
An elegant carbon fiber construction significantly reduces the intake air temperature (IAT) and overall weight. The carbon fiber weave can disperse heat quicker than typical aluminum piping which is commonly found in the aftermarket industry. Not only does it serve a functional purpose, but it also improves the aesthetics of the engine bay with a sleek touch of carbon fiber.
