The new FK8 Civic Type R is one of the best hatchbacks ever to exist. Its K20C1 engine makes a ton of horsepower and torque while providing a very wide power band. Even though it’s debatably the best front-drive car ever, that doesn’t mean it can’t be improved further. Due to emissions and sound restrictions, Honda can’t give the FK8 Type R the biggest and best exhaust possible, which is fine because the aftermarket offers solutions. At the tail end of 2017, Greddy released their Supreme SP exhaust for the Civic Type R. Now they’ve released their newest Type R exhaust, “HG” Supreme SP.
Like the standard Supreme SP exhaust for the Type R, the HG Supreme SP uses 76mm (3”) piping which allows exhaust gases to flow more freely which ultimately helps the turbo make more boost and make that boost quicker. The result is an increase in power and improved throttle response. Besides the looks of the HG’s fully polished stainless-steel mandrel-bent piping, extensive research and development have lead to this supreme exhaust system. Careful attention was placed on the Civic Type-R’s exhaust sound characteristics when incorporating our purposeful, high-flow, tri-routing layout.
The large 76mm (3”) diameter piping flows smoothly through a large mid-pipe resonator and then branches out to the high-flow 3” center SP muffler and the two side-mounted sound chambers, before exiting the GReddy triple exhaust tips. Like all GReddy Supreme SP systems, the fully hand-welded 304 Stainless-Steel exhausts carry a Limited Lifetime Warranty.
- Features 76mm (3”) piping for increased exhaust flow
- Two 4.1” tips and one 4.5” tip
- One center resonator and three small rear resonators
- Lighter than the stock exhaust
- Sounds great
