This Install Guide is intended to help with the installation of the VR Performance Blow Off Valve Kit on the 2018 – 2019 Kia Stinger GT with 3.3L TT V6.
NOTE: Vivid Racing recommends priming the BOV before installation to make sure the piston moves freely. Unscrew cap to open with spring. Gently push the brass plunger up and down to prime. Reinstall spring and screw cap on.
1) Loosen clamps to allow for factory tubing to remove from T-fitting.
2) Remove factory re-circulation tube by un-clamping the tube from factory valve and air tube.
3) With supplied cap and clamp. Install over factory port from air intake tube and tighten.
4) Remove the 4 bolts on each factory blow-off valve. Then carefully remove blow-off valves. The green gasket on the bottom of the valve will need to be removed for use in installing the VR Performance blow-off valves.
5) Install the new blow-off valves by putting the gasket into the opening at the base of the valve and install each trumpet facing toward the fenders.
6) Use the supplied 8 bolts and tighten down the blow-off valve.
7) Measure and cut the supplied hose to the desired length for best fitment. Put the longer piece into the right side blow-off valve when looking at the engine from the front.
8) Take the shorter tube and fit it into the left side blow-off valve and then insert them into the T fitting. Re-use the braided factory hose to the left side and clamps to secure the T fitting.
9) Installation of the VR Performance Blow Off Valve is now complete. Follow the instructions below to properly adjust your valves.
Adjusting the Blow-Off Valve
The VR Performance Adjustable Blow-Off Valve does not come preset and will need to be adjusted to suit the vehicle.
To adjust the valve turn the cap either clockwise or counterclockwise. Turning the cap on the valve counterclockwise will decrease the pressure on the piston while turning the cap clockwise will increase the pressure on the piston.
- Start with the cap on the valve set to its maximum softest setting. Do not rotate past the O-Ring. The O-Ring should be completely covered by the cap.
- Start the vehicle and let it idle. The port should be closed off by the piston and not floating or moving.
- Rev the engine in park and let off quickly, the engine should return to normal idle speed and the valve should be closed. If the valve is open tighten the cap clockwise one turn and test again.
- Test drive the vehicle. The BOV should remain closed under throttle/boost and open momentarily when releasing the throttle.
