As you probably know, the Jeep Wrangler has long been one of the most popular off-road vehicles in the world, but it also happens to be one of the most modified vehicles in the world. If you want the best out of a Wrangler, you need some aftermarket parts. A friend of ours brought his 2019 Wrangler Sport to us and wanted to make it cool, so we got to work installing some aftermarket goodies.
The first thing we had to do was ditch the stock wheels and tires. The wheels themselves were boring black wheels that looked like steelies. The stock tires aren’t particularly aggressive and they’re very small. We upgraded this JL Wrangler to a set of KMC XD Wheels XD137 17×9 wheels with a -12mm offset. The tires we chose were BF Goodrich K02 T/A tires sized in 315/70/r17.
This wheel and tire combo matches the styling of the JL Wrangler very well and gives it a very aggressive look. The tires we chose are significantly larger than stock, so we decided to upgrade the suspension to complement the new larger tires.
The suspension kit we chose for this Wrangler is a 2 – 2.5″ lift kit from Skyjacker. This kit includes everything we needed for easy installation, including upgraded M95 Monotube shocks which will give this Wrangler ride quality similar to stock. With the lift kit, we have better ground clearance and better articulation, however, it makes getting into the Jeep much more difficult.
To make it easy to get in the Jeep, we installed a pair of DV8 tubular rock sliders, which act as steps and provide much need off-road protection. This is a must-have modification if you plan on daily driving any lifted Jeep or truck
With everything installed, this JL Wrangler went from bone-stock to an off-road worthy machine. The wheels, tires, and lift kit give it great off-road performance and the rock sliders keep it protected on the trails! Be sure to check out the full video below!
