Mercedes ML550 Becomes Raging SUV with VR Tuned

We just had the opportunity to tune this 2012 Mercedes ML550 V8 Bi-Turbo on our dyno here in Arizona.  Mercedes Bi-Turbo engines are already pretty aggressive as it is.  Coming from the factory with 408bhp and 443ft/lbs of torque, you really can’t ask for more in a vehicle made to haul the family.  But like all turbocharged vehicles, you can boost these up to make some serious power.  Our Mustang Dyno typically has a 20-25% drivetrain loss.  We also use 91 octane here in AZ.  This Bosch MED17.7.3 ECU needs to be tuned on the bench by removing the ECU.  The process is pretty easy as seen here on our How To Remove article.  Once the ECU is flashed, it … Continue reading →
