The new 2015 Mini Cooper S is a much different animal than the earlier 1.6L turbocharged machines. Having had a Mini JCW Countryman, the capabilities of these cars is quite impressive and only gets better with some tuning and exhaust work. This new 2.0L turbo of the 2015 Mini Cooper S backs a strong punch compared to the previous models. The 4 cylinder, 6speed turbo makes 189hp and 207 ft/lbs of torque for a front wheel drive car. With a curb weight of just 2760lbs, this thing can get going. To further modify this customers car, we added the valvetronic exhaust system by Remus. The first one installed ever as a R&D project for Remus USA, the exhaust was a nice add-on for sound and performance. We dyno tested the exhaust with the valves open and closed with the stock midpipe and downpipe and saw some nice gains across the RPM curve. The car could definitely benefit from some tuning as the car had some dips which should be smoothed out. At the same time, we made an upgraded free flowing midpipe which gave the car a bit more sound and if tested again on the dyno, would generate a little more power.
