Although Honda’s move towards turbocharged engine presents makes their cars significantly more torquey and fun to drive, it introduces new problems. One of major problems of the 1.5L Turbo, is the weak factory bypass/diverter valve. The OEM bypass valve is designed to divert air back into the intake when the throttle body closes. The problem is the weak design Honda used, which is prone to leaking boost, especially if the boost is increased through a tune. Luckily, Agency Power has a new blow-off valve for the 1.5 Turbo which solves this problem.
The new Agency Power blow-off valve is fundamentally different from the OEM bypass valve, because it vents to atmosphere rather than recirculate the air back into the intake. By venting the excess air to atmosphere, you’ll hear that awesome “psh” noise much more clearly. The much stronger design holds up to high levels of boost without an issue unlike the OEM bypass valve. Overall, this new blow-off valve is a great modification for any 1.5 Turbo owner.
