If you remember driving cars of old, you probably remember the obnoxiously heavy clutch pedal thanks to the cable actuated design. Luckily, modern cars don’t use cables to operate the clutch; they use hydraulic pressure. Just like with your brakes, you can upgrade the lines to braided lines. Clutch Masters, as their name suggests, are a big name in the clutch/flywheel market, and they’ve just announced four new applications for their steel braided lines!
You might be thinking, why do I need to upgrade my clutch line? Well, there are a few reasons to upgrade. The OEM clutch line is made from rubber, and as you probably know, heat degrades rubber which makes it weak and brittle over time. Once your clutch line starts leaking from age, you might as well upgrade to something stronger like a steel braided line. Furthermore, clutch feel and responsiveness is much improved with a steel braided line, as the line expands and contracts less, resulting in more fluid reaching the slave cylinder faster.
