If you’re a Honda enthusiast, you probably like the idea of owning a Civic SI. In the past, the SI has had a different engine than the lower models, which was one of the big reasons to buy it. Today, however, the SI has the same (or nearly the same) 1.5L turbo as the lower models, making the lower models a great cheap alternative. Honda did a good job getting power out of the 1.5L turbo, but they left some performance on the table, and that performance can easily be uncovered with bolt-on parts such as an aftermarket exhaust.
