As you probably know by now, UTVs use continuously variable transmissions. These types of transmissions are different than the automatic transmission because it doesn’t have multiple gears for going forward. A continuously variable transmission has lots of upsides, especially for a desert toy like a UTV, but it also has some downsides. Depending on the type of wheeling you do, how much power your UTV is making, and many other factors, you CVT clutches ill have to be customized for your setup. Another downside is heat management, as the clutches can get pretty hot. Luckily, Bikeman performance has been working hard on developing solutions to control the heat from these clutches.
Their latest product is their new cyclone primary clutch cover. This clutch cover is designed to effectively work as a fan and decrease the temperature of the belt. As tested by Bikeman, this clutch cover is proven to increase airflow by 25cfm at part throttle and 50 cfm at full throttle. That jump in airflow helps keep the belt significantly cooler, helping it last much longer.
- Decreases belt temp, prolonging belt life
- About 25 CFM above stock down low
- Up to 50 CFM above stock at full shift-out
- Constant cooling, direct on the primary clutch
- Billet aluminum construction, built to last
