Momentum GT Cold Air Intake System
This is a great DIY and bolt on upgrade. The air intake on a turbocharged vehicle really helps improve the performance and sound. By OEM standards, airbox kits are typically sealed and use a throw away type paper filter. Aftermarket cold air intakes are designed to let a larger volume of air in to help the turbo breathe giving you more horsepower and torque. In fact this intake provides 30% more air flow over stock!
Catback Exhaust Systems
Upgrading the catback exhaust on the Toyota Land Cruiser 250 will help in two aspects. The catback is going to be lighter and flow better than stock adding performance. But more importantly is the catback will add some sound to the very quiet and boring turbocharger sound. Getting more growl out of the 2.4L engine will provide a lot more enjoyment to driving this beast around. aFe has created 3 different versions of the exhaust system. Each of these Vulcan systems features 2.5 inch 304 stainless steel piping available in either a polished tip or black tip. As well, they have their Apollo version which is made from 409 stainless steel and designed for the serious offroad enthusiast to not be in the way of those overland obstacles.
Bladerunner 2.5-3 inch Charge Pipe Kits
Charge pipe kits are designed to help the turbo and intercooler system. Turbochargers need to breathe well and keep cool. The more airflow the better. Upgrading the charge pipe can help improve the hot and cold side flow from the turbo and intercooler. More importantly is the ruggedness of the charge pipes. Typically OEM charge pipes are made of plastic and can crack over time. Their flexible design is not idea for a serious offroader. Because these help improve air flow, they also add horsepower and torque to the 2.4L turbo engine.
