Safety is always a top priority in any automotive event whether for education, fun, or professional competition. One product we have been very successful with here at Vivid Racing is the Agency Power bolt in roll bar for the Porsche 996 and 997 chassis. What makes this roll bar unique compared to the others out there is that it is a full bolt-in and has removal center bars. Other companies make great full roll cages for the 911, but we wanted to have a roll bar for the weekend racer. The harness bar and diagonal bar are removable leaving the main hoop in place. This allows for easy storage and access to the rear of the car going to the track. Obviously the GT3 does not have rear seats, but for the other models, this allows functioning of the rear seats still.
Since the rear of the roll bar bolts into the lower seat belt points, that makes GT3 owners scratch their head. Fear not, whether it is the 997 MK1 GT3 dual tub chassis or the 997 MK2 GT3 lightweight single tube chassis like on the 2010, Porsche has still left the threaded bolt hole points. If you pull the rear wheels off and remove the fender liner, you can see where these bolts are poking out. From the interior, you just use a small pic to find the head and then cut a X in the carpet. Porsche does make it fun by adding some body filler on top of the bolts, but once scraped off, you can easily remove them to complete the installation.
The Agency Power roll bar does not totally obstruct the rear view for street driving and still allows the seat to go all the way back without hitting. Obviously connecting the B-Pillars increases chassis rigidity. While the function is there, because Agency Power can do these in ANY customer color, they look the part and make your GT3 more official. Having had one of these in our Project 997.1 Turbo and Project 997.2 Turbo S, it was a easy choice to bolt another one in this 2010 Porsche GT3RS.
