Getting Porsche Turbo Lightweight Wheels is very easy to do with Vivid Racing. The current most common Porsche Turbo models are the 996 Turbo, 997 Turbo, and 991 Turbo. The 996 and 997 Turbo share the same fitments, however with the 997 Turbo you can go to 20 inch. The 991 Turbo comes factory with 20 inch and some have upgraded to 21 inch all around. Because the Turbo models are all wheel drive, you need to make sure you keep the same overall diameter to not affect the drivetrain rotation which can have irreversible affects on your differential. The 996 Turbo typically runs a 18 or 19 inch wheel. Common sizes are a 18×8.5 front and a 18×11 or 18×12 rear. For 19 inch, the sizes are 19×8.5 and 19×11 or 19×12. There is nothing wrong with running 19 inch wheels on the 996 Turbo and depending on who you ask, they look better. You can even lower your car up to 40mm and not have rubbing if the offsets are standard. The 997 Turbo comes with 19×8.5 and 19×11 wheels stock. They have a different diameter tire than the 996TT but these cannot be interchanged. Common sizes are to stay with the stock 19 inch setup that runs a 235/35/19 and a 305/30/19 or go up to a 20 inch. The 20 inch is a 20×9 and 20×12 running a 245/30/20 and a 325/25/20 tire. For those that own the 991 Turbo, these factory 20 inch wheels come with some great rubber on them. You can stick with the stock 20 inch 5 lug or Turbo S centerlock, but also go up to a 21 inch size. The 21 upgrade is a 21×9 and a 21×12 which requires a limited available tire using a 255/30/21 and a 325/25/21.
Because of how popular the Porsche Turbo Wheel market is, getting lightweight wheels is very easy. The hard part is choosing what color and styling. The lightest wheels will be 1 piece forged aluminum. Typically a set of 19 inch Porsche Turbo 1pc Monoblocks will weigh about 19lbs front and 22lbs rear. A set of 20 inch Monoblocks are about 23lbs front and 25lbs rear. Some manufactures will do lightweight pocketing on the inside of the spokes to save even more weight. But with weight savings is also structural integrity. If you are wanting a very lightweight wheel, then stay away from 2 piece or 3 piece setups. They will look good and function fine, but are not lighter than a 1 piece forged monoblock. Some of the top companies that do lightweight wheels for the Porsche Turbo are: HRE Wheels, Niche Wheels, Vorsteiner Wheels, ADV1 Wheels, Volk Racing Wheels. There are many companies that offer 1 piece forged wheels, however it is best to choose a brand that you are comfortable with their delivery, customer support, and warranty. Having owned and supported many customers Porsche 911 Turbo cars, we can definitely direct you in the right manner.
