Brand new Ecoboost Mustang gets Performance Modifications from Vivid Racing
The newest addition of the 4 cylinder turbo mustang has a few people questioning Fords antics for the S550 chassis. Even though a handful of enthusiasts are still on the fence about this vehicle, we have found it to be a outstanding platform for tuning. Not only does the remodeled body style look the part, with a few modifications this vehicle can really shine.
Sandwiched between the V6 model and the fan favorite 5.0 V8, this ecoboost fills the void in both power and economy. Boasting 310HP and 320TQ stock, it is no slouch from the factory. Even though this engine may be lacking in cylinders and displacement, it still puts down more power than the 3.7L V6, with a much better torque curve and usable power. Also with the new turbocharged engine, you are able to tune the vehicle for more substantial gains over a traditional naturally aspirated vehicle.
Another benefit for choosing the ecoboost is weight savings (okay…. maybe fuel efficiency as well :p). The Mustang chassis has been known for being “overweight” so anything you can do to lighten it up will help with performance. The Ecoboost model is 150 lbs lighter than the v8 model, which primarily comes from the front end of the vehicle. This allows for a better weight distribution which directly effects handling, braking and acceleration. We will now list off the modifications done to this ecoboost owned by @aaricajade11.
Wheels
The wheels that were chosen for this build were Vorsteiner V-FF107. These light weight flow forged wheels take nearly 15lbs of unsprung mass off the vehicle. This helps with all aspects of acceleration, Braking and cornering. Not to mention they look amazing. These have a custom powder coat which is offered at an additional cost.

Exhaust
Exhaust system is built by Agency Power, which is a straight through cat back style design. This allows for less back pressure and allows the turbo charger and engine breathe easier. Also when going for ECU tuning options, this will help get every last bit of performance out of the calibration. It also will put a smile on your face every time you put your foot down on the gas pedal.

Springs
Springs are provided by H&R which allow for a lowered ride height and stiffer spring rates. This will help in the twisty’s and allow for less body roll and more accurate steering. For comfort reasons the sport springs were the choice for this build. For added performance at the cost of comfort, you can opt for the race springs which lower the vehicle even more.
