If you have ever purchased an Agency Power part or been to the Vivid Racing shop, then you have been graced with the incredible talent, experience, and kind heart of Mike Porter. Unfortunately Mike was taken from his family and friends, including us at Vivid Racing/Agency Power from a freak brain aneurysm. If you ever met Mike, then you heard a good story. Mike worked for Vivid Racing now for a couple of years. I asked Mike one time, “has someone ever taken your leg?” Mike had suffered an auto accident in a old drag Vega which he now had the Bentley of prosthetics on. He told me, “if they take it, I hope they can out run my gun”. I laughed… His leg made from carbon fiber was part inspiration for our tubular carbon fiber products. As our lead fabricator’s father-in-law, Mike taught us patience, viewing things from the other side, and proved that with age comes wisdom. Definitely out aging us, he would kick any young kids butt in working on a car. You asked, Mike would help. Anytime we were on the dyno with a badass car, he was there taking pictures with his phone.
For a lot of us here, it is a swift kick in the face at how fragile life is.Mike definitely made his mark in many of our lives. With unexpected tragedy, sometimes the family can use help. If you would like, you can make donations by clicking the Paypal button below… As a grandfather, father, husband, and friend to others, we know the family will appreciate your kind words spread through the internet.
Wow, surprised as you are and I’m so sorry for the loss of the Vivid Racing fam and if course the blood family of Mike… He always was mellow, appreciated my giving of goods including Snap On shirts! NOS etc. Rip Mike
I’m at a loss for words. Mike was a great friend and co-worker. He was always willing to help out at any moment and got the job done when promised. Mike definitely had a sense of humor, as you can tell by the last picture 🙂 My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.
Mike will definately be missed by his family & friends.. He was truly “one of a kind”. I always admired the way he treated my son, Jason like one of his own. His memory will live on in the lives of his loved ones forever…..
RIP Mike, My thoughts and prayers are with Jason and his family and friends. It’s not easy to lose someone so soon.
May Gods strength, love and peace be with Mikes family; Mike was always so pleasant and kind; I’m graced and blessed to have his workmanship ans skill in my car; may his presence always be remembered…
