According to Automobile Magazine, R&D hasn’t gone as smooth as it should have gone, so far at least. It appears executives of Volkswagen Automotive Group (VWAG) were NOT satisfied with the early prototypes. Moving on, it sounds as if the upcoming Chiron will inherit the Veyron’s AWD powertrain however shed some weight along the way. The Chiron will classic 8 liter W12 will live on, with an addition of electrically powered turbo’s. Sounds good right? It gets better for whom ever wants a Bugatti, has one, dreams of one, or just plain loves speed! The new Chiron’s top speed is taking on the Hennessy Venom GT. With an estimated top speed of 280 MPH, yes that’s right, it will once again break a PRODUCTION CAR SPEED RECORD. Although the Hennessy Venom GT is currently faster, it isn’t technically a production car. For those of you who can relate on what it takes to be considered a “production car”, the heavily modified chassis under that petite Lotus shell re-branded as the Hennessy Venom GT is not a production.
