Japanese tuning firm and legends in their own right have gone back to the roots. Their latest release is all about the famed Nissan 240SX and making more power out of the KA24DE. Most 240sx owners will immediately do a JDM SR20 swap or even go the RB25 or RB26 route. We hear ya loud and clear Tomei as when we built our Project 240sx, we stuck with the 2.4L and turbocharged that biotch! So revisiting this platform will not just be 1 product, but a series of products, installations and tech articles to showcase this iconic cars tuning potential. Their first big attack is with the new Tomei manifold.
This new manifold makes turbocharging the KA24DE very easy. This manifold is designed to fit the KA24 engine block but will mount up a very EASY to find SR20 turbocharger. This allows for the JDM turbo parts to easily bolt up to the NA engine block. You can either use a stock or aftermarket SR20 turbochargers. The Tomei turbo exhaust manifold for the KA24DE features a dividing plate (just before the turbo flange) separating the port into left and right chambers. With the KA24DE firing sequence being 1→3→4→2 , this dividing plate allows for the exhaust gasses from each cylinder to be channeled alternately between the left and right chambers, reducing exhaust gas interference for a smoother flow of exhaust gasses to the turbocharger.
