The Porsche Taycan really gives the competition, namely the Tesla Model S, a run for its money. After all, the one thing you get with the former that you do not get with the latter is that unmistakable Porsche Driving Experience. The Porsche Taycan showcases world-renowned high performance that is associated with the German marque and sets new standards in charging speeds and acceleration figures. This is all thanks to it being the first production electric vehicle with an 800-volt architecture and multispeed transmission. From the inside out, the Taycan is a masterpiece that is impressive in all the ways you’d expect from Porsche. Upon its debut, the Taycan sought out to revolutionize the electric car world and it has even “converted” those who never thought they’d get or even want an EV. This hits close to home as it proved true for our very own Dan from Vivid Racing (full story here).
While the Porsche Taycan may be on the newer end of the EV spectrum, the aftermarket already offers some nice upgrades and goodies to make it your own. The Porsche Taycan has an electronic lowering system, but we wanted to lower it even further than the factory settings. Presenting the fully adjustable VR Performance lowering links; with these, you can set the ride height to be even lower to give your EV a more aggressive stance without compromising ride quality. The VR Performance Lowering Links are made to work smoothly with the Porsche Taycan’s three-chamber air suspension system. Our lowering links come with preset for ease of use, but you can still adjust them further to achieve your preferred ride height. Best of all, they are super easy to install and fully reversible too.
Now that the Porsche Taycan was sitting pretty, it was also treated to the new VR Forged wheels, specifically the D04 wheel. They measure 21×9.5 at the front and 21×11.5 at the rear with aggressive offsets so the wheels are flush to the fender. The D04 wheel features a large five split-spoke design that lets you really see those massive calipers sitting behind it. The intricate machine work around the spokes also keeps this wheel lightweight and visually appealing. And, as with all VR Forged wheels, the D04 was manufactured using a 10,000-ton press to give it an incredibly strong construction.
To finish the Taycan package off, we did a really cool chrome delete kit around the window trim to give it a more stealthy appeal. While Porsche does have an upgrade for that if you pre-order the car, some of you may not have done that or bought the car already with the chrome trim. Do not fret, though, as Vivid Racing now has a black trim kit available with pre-cut vinyl that fits over the entire chrome trim. The vinyl pieces are made from quality material that will hold up to the elements. The package includes the top and bottom parts for each window/door and all the way around to give it that nice blacked-out look. What may seem like a small mod can really make the world of a difference as you can see below.
