From Vorsteiner –
Celebrating 10 year of Vorsteiner, we will be debuting our anniversary vehicle, the GTRS4 wide body exclusively at SEMA 2014. In addition to this very exciting undertaking, we are releasing many new additions to our lightweight wheel series. The new Vorsteiner Flow Forged Series will bring four designs utilizing three unique finishes. In addition, each wheel will carry three concavities built to maximize the wheel depth for many European applications. Visit us at SEMA 2014 at the Las Vegas Convention Center November 4th – 7th to see our new GTRS4 and Flow Forged Wheel Series.
Strength in Design
Spoke design can’t be only attractive, it must serve a purpose. While design is one of the reasons why most enthusiasts prefer certain wheels, here at Vorsteiner we believe it’s the most important. A wheel can be attractive and lightweight because it uses equal raw materials and manufacturing equipment, however, design strength is another objective on its own. We thoroughly study each individual shape and arrangement to ensure our unique architecture has the longevity to outlast the most severe conditions. By offering 3 concavities per design, we’ve also maximized the wheel depth for many European applications.
Our Lightweight Fascination to Increase Performance
The wheel is one of the most important areas to reduce weight in any vehicle; it’s rotational mass as well as unsprung weight. Removing unsprung weight as the suspension compresses and decompresses is key to improving steering response and vehicle traction. In addition, reducing rotational mass also improves the acceleration and deceleration providing a significant advantage to performance and fuel economy.
Less is More
Our Flow Forged Technology is on average 25% lighter compared to a conventional cast construction, yet substantially stronger. The majority of surplus weight can be shaved by the use of less but stronger aluminum. High-pressure rollers heat, stretch and fortifies the barrel to the specified width and density, the molecular compound of the metal significantly hardens in a streamline direction.
Design Language & Balance
As designers, we believe that the wheel is the single most significant improvement to a vehicle in terms of appearance and performance. Studying the design language of each vehicle allows us to determine which wheel styles can enhance or weaken the symmetry of the vehicle’s character. Not all wheel designs work with certain makes & models, so we created specific designs tailored bring out the balance and beauty to each individual.
