WP Pro has been on a rampage to be the best in big brake kit upgrades for the latest top tuner cars. Already shown off on our Project CLA45, the WP Pro Brakes signature saw blade rotor is what really gets the attention. Two new applications have just been released with long term testing on street and aggressive driving for about 10km. One kit on a M3 and one kit on a M4. With little choices on the market, and a great caliper/rotor design, these are the ultimate in big brake upgrade for the new BMW F82 and F80 M cars.
The first kit on this yellow BMW M4 has the EX6 6piston caliper up front with 388mm 2 piece sawblade style rotors. The rear kit features the L6 6piston caliper with 380mm 2 piece rotors. Here is where the engineering and performance take place! The front 4 piston OEM caliper weighs just 5lbs where the new 6piston forged caliper weighs 4lbs. The OEM front rotor weighs about 9.3lbs where the new 2pc WP rotor weighs 7.8lbs. Collectively that is a savings of 2.5lbs per corner but since this is rotational weight, there is a factor of 3 times that saving you a noticeable 7.5lbs. The rear 1 piston caliper weighs 3.6lbs and the new WP Pro 6 piston caliper weighs 2.8lbs. The stock rear rotor weighs 11lbs and the new WP Pro 2pc saw blade rotor weighs 8.3 lbs. This combined saves you 9.9lbs of rotational weight and much larger surface area for better braking.
The second kit on the red BMW M3 has the new brand new EX8 8piston caliper up front. The full front kit is massive and compared to OEM ceramics, this front is 5lbs heavier with near ceramic performance. Better fade resistance, better COF, and super stylish. This front kit has the same 2piece 388mm saw blade rotor as the yellow M4. The rear kit is also the same as the M4 using the L6 6piston caliper with 380mm rotors.
