When the company first started in 1967, it was a maker of racing cylinder heads at a period when just a few companies were doing so. Furthermore, it all started in Smiltnieks' garage in Memphis' suburbs. Racing Head Service has earned a reputation for producing anything from racing engines to complete race cars.
RHS became a brand that competitive NHRA and roundy-round racers turned to for answers and power as the company evolved. In the 1980s, it was a pioneer of the crate engine, supplying complete engine bundles to happy customers. When McWhirter and Woodward retired, Smiltnieks became the legal owner of Racing Head Service. Comp Cams was the next stop for Scooter Brothers.
Racing Head Service produced hundreds of high-performance crate engines, cylinder heads, and other parts for fans worldwide, and they were always inventive. Smiltnieks died in a stroke several years ago, but the passion he established in Racing Head Service lasted forever. RHS has returned, including an exciting wave of new Ford cylinder heads, from the same people that brought us FAST, Comp Cams, ZEX Nitrous, TCI, Pro Racing, Powerhouse Products, and AETC Engine Technology.
Today's Racing Head Service is a collaborative effort among Mike Morais of Southern Performance Ltd. (SPL) and Memphis' Comp Performance Group in New Zealand. The brilliance of a world economy and a dwindling planet is this. It pulls together incredible talent worldwide who are hungry to develop unique products. Morais has vast casting and machining knowledge, resulting in an outstanding selection of small-block Ford cylinder heads.

The factory that harnesses the power of design Small intake and exhaust ports have always hampered flow, exhaust scavenging, and performance in Ford small-block heads. Racing Head Service chose to go at these flaws with its unique take on the small-block Ford head. They developed this strategy at SPL in New Zealand.

They also devoted close attention to the intake and exhaust runners, valve layout, valve guide interference, bowl structure, among other details to make the Racing Head Service head a casting that could be installed straight out of the box. This is due to improved CNC technology, which results in perfectly matched components that you don't have to bother about while creating an engine.
