Overview of Radium Engineering Kits for the R35

Radium Engineering offers two catch can kits specifically designed for the R35:

• 20-0555 Crankcase Vent Kit: This kit mounts at the front of the engine and connects to the breather lines from the heads to the turbo intake piping. It includes two catch cans—one for each head breather.

These kits can be purchased separately or together. If you're considering both, keep in mind that using them in tandem provides the best protection against oil ingestion into the engine. The PCV side kit works wonders at keeping oil out of the intake manifold during low-load conditions, like cruising or idling. When you hit the boost, the PCV valve closes, and that’s where the crankcase breathers come into play—making catch cans essential!

To maintain factory functionality, the two CCV catch cans are installed inline between each crankcase vent (CCV) port and the corresponding turbo inlets. At low loads, these catch cans operate under atmospheric pressure. However, when you push the engine to high load (WOT), they handle significant flow out of the crankcase. Without this setup, oil and sludge could build up in the air filter intake pipe, leading to oil accumulation in the intercooler and reducing thermal efficiency—definitely not what you want for peak performance!
